Israel says it is cutting off its electricity supply to Gaza. The full effects of that are not immediately clear, but the territory’s desalination plants receive power for producing drinking water.

Sunday’s announcement comes a week after Israel cut off all supplies of goods to the territory to over 2 million people. It has sought to press Hamas to accept an extension of the first phase of their ceasefire. That phase ended last weekend. Israel wants Hamas to release half of the remaining hostages in return for a promise to negotiate a lasting truce.

Hamas has pressed to start negotiations on the ceasefire’s more difficult second phase instead, which would see the release of remaining hostages from Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and a lasting peace. Hamas is believed to have 24 living hostages and the bodies of 35 others.

We’re moving towards doing the same thing to the US up here in Canada.

Just shit you gotta do when you’re dealing with fascists. Sorry, we can’t hurt Fox News without hurting all of NY. Things are gonna be shit when fsacists are running things where you live.

Except it’s NOWHERE near the same thing.

Palestine isn’t allowed to produce electricity itself or import it from anywhere else, so if Israel cuts off the electricity that means no electricity.

Without electricity, Palestine has no clean water to drink or with which to water crops. This combined with Israel blocking aid, having partially or completely destroyed most if not all hospitals and killed most healthcare workers, guarantees that the already atrocious ongoing humanitarian catastrophe is going to get MUCH worse.

The majority of the population wasn’t even BORN (let alone old enough to vote) the last time an election was allowed.

Plus nobody is murdering, displacing, and otherwise ethnically cleansing the population of New York.

You’re basically comparing apples and Orange County.

So after Israel kills the last Palestinian- who’s next on their list?

it’s not like they’ll face any consequences for this genocide, so why not kick off another?!

Aside from—of course—Arabs, other Israeli Jews. The break between Orthodox Jews and liberal Jews is a whole thing; Israel’s (inevitable if you think about it) fall into fascism is progressing fast.

      Epicurus said it best:

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God

I’ll never understand the anti-theist obsession with religion. They survey everything before them, scanning for signs of faith like a hawk searching for mice.

For me, one of the best things about atheism is I can automatically depreciate the significance of all that dumb shit.

What of the tens of thousands of dead and mutilated Palestinians at the hands of American bombs, jets, and funding from October '23 to January '25? If those deaths don’t matter to you then why do these deaths matter to you? Or could it be that you don’t really care either way and just want to use it as a political football?

You roped yourself into “political posturing” with your previous comment doing exactly that.

I don’t know how genocide becomes “even worse.” Care to explain that or is it that “its worse for the rest of the world too” and now that you’re personally affected it, it’s suddenly an issue.

I’m not here to convince anyone, just here to comment. You’re free to do your own research. There’s tons of evidence and its going to be even more obvious come midterms.

Also, why do you think they were so vocal about pushing that narrative last go around? Because they knew with what they were planning, people wouldn’t want to speak up for fear of precisely what you’re doing. Fuck that noise.

And now you’re taking a page from the anti-vax movement. No. I don’t prove your points, you do that yourself. Should be pretty easy if it’s so clearly happening.

        You’re half right

This was going to happen regardless (Harris is a supporter of Israel’s actions), but the election was not stolen.
