I tried to help a friend set up a Social Security Administration login a few days ago because of the reported (but now cancelled) plans to force anyone who didn’t have an online account to come into a SS office to continue to receiving their earned benefits. He didn’t remember if he had an web account or not.
The SS website stopped responding after the 1st attempt and a 2nd attempt responded with, “Your account is now locked. You must come into an office or call us to unlock your account.”
DOGE’s purpose is disaster capitalism - creating disruption,breaking things beyond repair and manufacturing conditions where oligarchs can profit off of the resulting chaos. “Efficiency” has nothing to do with it.
Efficient isn’t an error message. I thought these people were so pissed at a nonfunctional healthcare website that they’d never do such a thing themselves. And they’ve done it on purpose!
Remember kids, tell Grandma and Grandpa that only fraudsters complain about missing a check so that when DOGE fucks this up, is the victims’ fault.
This saves you the hassle of helping your grandparents trying to log in to their account because they are fraudsters for having problems.
My dad voted for Trump, so if he calls me to help with his Social Security I’m gonna fucking laugh in his face.
Can’t wait to see this have no measurable effect whatsoever on Trump’s approval ratings.
