Fox News appears to have removed their DOW ticker in a pattern for the company, choosing to block out the steep drop in DOW points after Trump’s tariff announcement

well it’s not like they’re a news channel. why would they broadcast actual facts when it’s the bullshit and lies that drives ratings and ‘pays the bills’?

Donald Trump has posted a response to the matter on Truth Social.

I think it’s going very well—The MARKETS are going to BOOM…

    He elaborated further with this:

I think it’s going very well. It was an operation, like when a patient gets operated on, and uh, it’s a big thing. I said this would exactly be the way it is. Uh, we have 6 or 7 trillion dollars coming into our country, and uh, we’ve never seen anything like it. Uh, the markets are gonna boom, the stocks’re gonna boom, the country’s gonna boom, and the rest of the world wants to see: Is there any way they can make a deal? They’ve taken away advantage of us for many many years. For many years, we’ve been at the wrong side of the ball, and I’ll tell you what: I think it’s gonna be unbelievable. The thing that people have to talk about - we’re up to almost 7 trillion dollars of investment coming into our country, and uh, you’ll see how it’s gonna turn out. Our country’s gonna boom.

Trump is one of those people who thinks that saying it enough will make it true.

I’m not sure how I feel about this: I agree with Donald Trump.

Except I think we may have differing ideas about how the country is about to go “Boom!

Tom Clancy’s ‘Debt of Honor’ features nearly the entirety of the US government being wiped out:

Supreme Court, House Representatives, Senators, President and most of his cabinet… are all present at a State of the Union Address.

And then a 747 is flown by terrorists into the Capitol building.

In the book, the main character Jack Ryan, the Vice President, is basically running late, and is the only senior officer of government to survive.

Book came out in 94, before 9/11.

Designated Survivor dealt with that as well.

I wonder if the producer was inspired by Clancy…

        Ah, that’s the problem.

He’s thinking boom like “boom or bust”.

You’re thinking boom like Marvin the Martian.

Wouldn’t want to upset the morons - they’ll figure it out soon like the rest of our sorry asses.

It’s really a damned shame stupid isn’t painful more often.
