It’s actually still earth and the protagonist time travelled.
They travelled to the past when only the upper half of the statue was built.
🎵Oh my God, you’re so wrong.
It was Earth, all along.🎵
So… in the novel… it IS actually a different planet and obviously the Statue of Liberty is not there.
You likely already know this but the statue in the movie is a convenient symbol for change over time which is relevant to the book. No spoilers.
Anyway… read the novel! It’s great.
I haven’t read the book, but that makes this even funnier to me. Lol
Will add that to my list.
No! They did it! They blew it up!
And then the apes blew up their society too. How could this happen?
And then the birds took over and ruined their society.
And then the cows. And then…I don’t know, is that a slug, maybe?
Noooo!
Weird how the copper of the slug statue looks older than the other ones. I hope someone got fired for that blunder
It’s, like, even more futuristic copper so it colors differently.
Or maybe version their statue was built with the help of their version of Ea-Nasir.
Actually it was the French aliens that transported them on their spaceship
A wizard did it.

A quick googling is too much to ask?

In 3978, human refugee George Taylor fled from Ape City with his newly acquired mate, Nova. During the course of several days, Taylor believed that he had been living on a strange, alien world. Following the shoreline, he came upon the Statue’s ruins and realized that he was on Earth. Worse, he deduced that the humans of his own era must have waged a global war, which paved the way for a dystopian future where humans became subservient to evolved apes.
The bigger plot hole is that this is not consistent with any global warming or giant earthquake. Rising sea levels would not have a beach and rocky formation right next to statue of liberty. And a crazy violent earthquake that would move land and rock well above the statue of liberty and right next to it, would have knocked the statue over.

Did you even watch the movie? They explain it right away!
Someone “blew it up” and the resulting explosion launched it into space.
I’ve only watched the musical from the Simpsons.
🎶 I was wrong. It was Earth all along. 🎶
I hate every ape I see, from chimpan-A to chimpanzee.
Doctor Zaius, Doctor Zaius…
Can i play the piano anymore?
Of course you can!
I couldn’t before!
GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
I like how the only thing left of fucking New York City is made of iron and thin sheets of copper.
For reasons not directly related to the movie, I just so happen to have this on hand.
It could be that they’re not in the former area of NYC, but the statue made its way to where they are. She’s hollow, yeah? Could she float? Could she have been taken back by the French at some point and then sent to some island like Tahiti?
Or is this movie a distant sequel to Ghostbusters 2?
I think you’re trying too hard to defend a shitty movie. :)
This is either satirical or the biggest WHOOSH I’ve seen so far this year.

Yeah it’s memes. That doesn’t clarify whether people are really thinking the status of liberty was a “confusing plot hole” or making fun of that.
No, this is a misunderstanding. This is just an unusual rock formation. It has nothing to do with the actual statue, that still stands on Earth.
Oh, kinda like Mt Rushmore. Nature truly is remarkable.

Is this a meme or is this merely a statement of fact about a movie along with a photo from that movie
