An official Microsoft developer said it in a conference while revealing official company plans. It’s pretty clear it is an official communication. This whole “ah but Microsoft itself never made a corporate statement about it” is just Microsoft trying to weasel itself out from responsibility of the decision they made that wasn’t going to be as profitable as shoveling another crappy windows version down on our throats, literally forcefully, by withholding vital security updates or pricing them.
That was never mentioned in an official Microsoft communication.
“Technically” lol I think one of their corp guys said it, but never endorsed it as a position.
