Speaking during the Ignite conference held earlier this week, Microsoft developer evangelist Jerry Nixon revealed the company’s plans for Windows:

Right now we’re releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we’re all still working on Windows 10.

      In https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-may-be-last-version-windows-microsoft-rethinks-operating-system

An official Microsoft developer said it in a conference while revealing official company plans. It’s pretty clear it is an official communication. This whole “ah but Microsoft itself never made a corporate statement about it” is just Microsoft trying to weasel itself out from responsibility of the decision they made that wasn’t going to be as profitable as shoveling another crappy windows version down on our throats, literally forcefully, by withholding vital security updates or pricing them.
