Summary

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith faces criticism for telling Breitbart she asked the Trump administration to pause tariffs until after Canada’s federal election, claiming they benefit the Liberals in polls.

Smith said Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre’s views would align with “the new direction in America.”

Political analyst Lori Williams noted this undermines Poilievre’s efforts to distance himself from Republicans.

Smith’s office later denied asking the U.S. to interfere in Canada’s election, stating she wants tariffs paused to properly renegotiate CUSMA post-election.

She admits it on audio and her PR firm and her office denies it. Ridiculous. You got caught, now it’s time to face consequences. I hope election interference charges are brought up on her.

And if they have a case for treason, that, too.

The best part? This will be a complete surprise to only PP since the other part leaders already have the clearance to know details of an ongoing investigation. He won’t be able to help her.

Yeah, but they can just lie. That’s how all this happened. Generate distrust in the media, create a fake climate of fear against “evil immigrants.” No politician calls them liars, because they’re all complicit. Capitalist mouthbreathing drones.
