Republican President Donald Trump said on Sunday he was not joking about seeking a third presidential term, which is barred by the U.S. Constitution, but that it was too early to think about doing so.
Trump, who took office on January 20 for his second, non-consecutive White House term, has made vague allusions to seeking a third one but addressed it directly on Sunday in a telephone interview with NBC News.
“No, I’m not joking. I’m not joking,” Trump said, but “it is far too early to think about it.”
“There are, there are methods which you could do it, as you know,” he said. He declined to elaborate on any specific methods.
I perhaps should have clarified that I meant Republicans who said they opposed Biden because of his age, who are suddenly okay with someone in his 80s running.
I certainly did not mean Democrats earnestly voicing concern of Bidens age.

Pull any receipts of mine you like. You are a toxic coward who insisted, for literally months, that we throw the election to Trump. And when it was all too obvious that the strategy you insisted on, that you belittled and badgered and abused and briggaded others for questioning it, when it was all too obvious your strategy towards electorism had doomed this nation, ONLY then were’ you able to get even partially with reality.
We could have won this election, if you had recognized the deep toxicity of your rhetoric. That your world view is wrong; that it wasn’t you we had to convince to win the election. If blue-MAGA would have pulled their heads out of their asses in time for us to do change our strategy instead of insisting on an approach that would not win the election; Donald Trump was one of the most beatable opponents of all time: you chose for us to lose to him.
The fact is you were wrong in such a way that it deeply damaged this country, and we’ll never forget that about you. You hurt everyone and everything with the way you approached rhetoric and this election. You should have sense of shame so deep your children come out hanging their heads.
You are the spirit of the “white moderate” that MLK warned us all about. The one who prioritizes order, and decorum, and half a loaf, negative peace, avoiding the tension that is required to bring about positive justice. And maybe most importantly you lose fucking elections. You should never be listened to again, by any one: Because your world view precludes you from being able to predict what will happen in the future.
You don’t win when it matters. All you care about, truly, is that you have your way, election results be damned.
