He is a very good example why celebrities shouldn’t be worshipped. Yes they are often very good, world class, at some thing. But only that one thing. They may be shit at everything else, including being a decent human being. Enjoy what talent they share - a great goal scorer is a great goal scorer - but don’t ascribe more to them than that. They can’t topple off a pedestal if you don’t put them up there to begin with.
We should be thanking Trump. He’s so undisciplined, uncouth, uneducated that he talks like an 8th grade dropout mafia wannabe. However, that is much more representative of average America than the usual Presidents. He says all the quiet parts out loud. The US has been the biggest bully in the world since the end of WWII and uses every allied nation to prop up and enrich their own. For the past decades they have been masking it through a veil of diplomacy. But not Trump. He tells it as it is. Problem for the USA is that he thinks that is good and that America is a great nation that all others worship. Maybe under his government, the rest of the world will be freed from the US.
Except, for example many Canadians, who are really fed up with being the kick ball for American Presidents (Trump has a lot of company when it comes to tariffs), who will do their best to not buy anything from the USA. I predict our trade deficit will go in the opposite direction that Trump hopes. The USA still needs to buy electricity, gas/oil, wood, and various other raw products from Canada. We don’t have to buy finished goods from the USA since there are plenty of other countries to supply them. We really don’t need to vacation there.
This would seem more accurate to me if it said “Grandparents at 25”. I’m the 25yo parent’s age and for us, people were already considering whether they could afford 1 or 2 children with mortgage and childcare costs. I guess if we had the big screen TVs, cellphones stronger than computers, gaming computers, and cheap airfare around the world, many of us would have also decided parenting was much too expensive.
Construction - building homes - may be something needed in Canada over the next few years if someone isn’t a doctor or nurse.
Wonderful news. Keep it up even when tariffs are removed. We MUST grow Canadian made for Canadians to purchase.
I think the dealership fires and vandalism are insider jobs. The dealers have unsellable merchandise. An insurance payout is about the best they could hope for.
I wonder if Americans will wake up and start to push back when they and their families start dying for this stuff. Taking over other countries means death and not just to those who are being taken over.
Does Russia have enough male population left to fight a big war? They’ve killed off a good chunk of them in Ukraine already.
It means that everything PP is currently sharing is made up misinformation because he has cut himself off from having real information. He is firmly in favour of that because he can say anything, real or imagined, that he thinks will appeal to his potential voters. Truth is something they might not agree with so it’s better for him not to be held to that. Inuendo is so much easier to spin than fact.
Please people, if you are going to look at stock prices, look back a year, two, or more. Reddit was slightly up from its 5 year point when in October 2024, like many other stocks, it wildly went up. It isn’t yet back down to the pre-October level. Someone (Musk and fellow billionaires?) have been playing these markets since the last US election to game money out of everyone else. There was no value in the business to justify the jump, just a pump and dump scheme to graft money out of the lower classes/pension portfolios.
I like the people that say it is decline due to the exchange rate. While a favourable exchange rate is nice, a negative one has never impacted travel to this extent. Canadians we can do better - we can get this up to 90% or more of a drop! Go Canada Go.
If it’s biology based, women have 3 and men 2, but straight line would make more sense. But that is only a guess and who knows what the symbols are actually based on.
I don’t know about lack of reparations. Where I live it is only the Indigenous groups that have massive amounts of federal and provincial money to spend. All sorts of fancy new buildings going up for housing and recreation and self-government.
It depends on how conveniently the chargers are located. If you have a smaller battery and can go 200km you’ll need a charging station every 190km and mountainous terrain will change those distances as well. You many end up charging sooner than needed in order to get to the next charging spot. In reality it isn’t as bad as it sounds. I travel the BC interior with my short range EV and the savings in fuel make it worthwhile to stop more often. Even when I pay the high speed charging rates, it is about 1/4 the cost of gasoline per km but takes 15% longer time to get to destination vs our gas vehicle.
It always seemed strange that Canada would agree (how much arm twisting?) to buy a plane that won’t work well in our Arctic. We are committed to buying 16 jets but it would probably be better to buy the rest elsewhere or put our money into homegrown solutions. Maybe drones or other machines.
Wasn’t dog in a crate? Possibly died due to lack of water and food?
Not just gone from government, but dead. And none of his spawn in any government positions.
I’m disappointed that so many people are still headed south. Maybe it is travel that was booked prior to January or they have kids in uni that need to come home or something. I hope April is double the March numbers.
