You can’t really replace YouTube’s massive library yourself, the best you can do is avoid it but that’s hard too. As for the frontend, there is

You’re lucky with Gmail. Both my work and school uses Outlook and they ban IMAP, POP3, third-party apps (even those with OAuth2) and also forwarding to another address.
