Nah, my company buys them because they work well for the price and support multiple monitors. I haven’t seen a single person in work with use the Trackpoint. Just about everyone uses the trackpad and some have traveling mice.

The reason there aren’t anymore crank windows isn’t because it’s a mandatory upsell, it’s because motorized is probably as cheap or even cheaper thanks to modern manufacturing and the preference of 99% of other people.

The just install Linux crowd gets really old. How’s that gonna help on a work machine where I HAVE to use Office to collaborate? Oh right, it’s not! Totally unhelpful.

The Thinkpads all have trackpads too. I don’t use the trackpoint myself but the trackpad tracks well.

I read the article before I saw it here (I follow ars). What they describe hasn’t been my experience. I press the power button on the Apple TV and it HDMI-CECs the TV power on and changes the input to the Apple TV HDMI eArc channel. They could change that behavior but it would break HDMI-CEC.

This always falls on its face for work. No one does collaboration as easy as Microsoft and that’s not changing anytime soon. I mean, everyone would have to move all at once. I can move to Linux on my personal devices and it’s not going to change stats one bit.

Yeah, I suppose. I don’t use the rock UI, it goes straight into the Apple TV when powered on so I don’t really care that much.
