Article only says the UAW, which has more retired members than it does active, and a pathetically small percentage of the active automotive workforce.

I’m not super well versed in “healthy union demographics”, but a quick wikipedia perusal says the three largest US unions (National education association, service employee international union, and the american federation of state, county, and municipal employees) have between 2-15% retirees.

Something tells me the UAW is just led by chuds but what do I know?

Electric motors work by inducing a magnetic field with coils of wire, so I’m sure a strong enough EMP would disrupt it temporarily, but I don’t know if it would meaningfully damage anything after the EMP ceased.

My understanding is that EMPs are more of a concern for the tiny electronics on computers versus relatively large motors or batteries. So, an electric vehicle is still at risk, but I don’t think it’d be any more at risk than any ICE car that’s all computerized anyways.

The judges already have the power and legal precedent to do so. The trumplets have already demonstrated zero care about needing either of those things, so I’m really not seeing what you hope to achieve by not using one of the few legal avenues actual consequences could be enacted on the fascists is?

As always, it’s projection - anecdotally, the only people I have personally known to be abusing government programs have been conservative. That’s more of a quirk of “most people using government programs are poor and uneducated and therefore conservative”, but still.

Frankly I think the only thing that’d give me faith in my countrymen would be learning there’s actually truth to Musk/the repubs at large rigging the election, and that’s a long shot.
