Unless they feel the pain — without democratic intervention to cast blame — these people will never change their minds. They may not in any event, but it has to affect them. In any event, its probably a game of tug of war, and the decisions we make as a society depend greatly on how society’s parents were raised.
The key in that phrase is “offended”. You see, right-wing parents get offended when brown people are welcomed.
