It’s so un-American to not buy weapons from us. Who do these Europeans think they are?

It’s probably a downstream effect of the souring mood in the United States as the consequences of the current administration and our slide into fascism become increasingly apparent. Can’t speak for the rest of the world, but it’s hard to believe things are getting better out there.

I hope that people outside the US are aware of how quickly the rhetoric is shifting within the US. The right wing machine is rapidly spinning up a normalization of the ideas that: the US doesn’t need allies at all, the US has zero obligation to abide by international treaties, and the rest of the world is available for us to take. By ‘take’ I mean utter economic dominion and/or military conquest and/or territorial annexation.

The speed at which things are deteriorating here is shocking. An imperial US is a terrifying prospect. This deranged, entitled joke of a country has both an effectively endless supply of armaments and a depraved indifference to the suffering of people abroad and here at home.

The world has a metastasizing US problem.

I’m old enough to remember when Elon released “the twitter files” in an attempt to demonstrate how the federal government supposedly exerted egregious pressure on private media in violation of first amendment right.

You think that things like ‘laws’ and ‘contracts’ mean anything here in the US anymore? How cute.

This little nation’s ability to fund and conduct war on so many simultaneous fronts on such a sustained basis without consequence is remarkable. It’s almost like they’re really just a front for the largest military machine in the history of the world.

This “many unique viewpoints” talking point is one that I’m encountering more and more as I increasingly confront normies in my community on their support for genocide. It’s a dishonest attempt to deflect attention away from responsibility for unspeakable awfulness and violence by appealing to the natural intellectual desire to be open minded and fair.

I feel like I’m surrounded by ghouls, and it’s exhausting.

This heading sounds like something out of The Onion. Israel’s got some real talent there, simultaneously doing a ceasefire AND repeatedly attacking Hamas.

Given that this administration is now arresting and deporting people for speech, it will not take much for ‘vandalism is terrorism’ to become ‘speech is terrorism’ when it comes to Tesla. Coming up on this trajectory are: people getting arrested for boycotting Tesla, people getting arrested for insulting Tesla, people getting arrested for flipping off Teslas. These are all very normal things that totally stable societies do.

I will say it again. The word “terrorist” is just meaningless now. It’s just a cudgel that government and corporate demagogues use to victimize innocent targets and distract from their own unjust violence.

The meaning of the word “terrorist” has become meaningless after being abused by governments like the US for decades. It’s now just a rhetorical key they turn to justify fascist actions like this arrest.

$tsla is down over 14% so far today. Such good work that has practical benefits that goes far beyond just symbolism. Much of Musk’s financial house of cards is banked on the perceived value of his Tesla shares. If those shares lose their value, a lot of lenders, like those who financed his twitter purchase, are going to call those loans. Without the money on paper, his political influence shrinks. Keep up the pressure. I myself had the pleasure of flipping off two cybertrucks yesterday.
