Not much of a difference from last week. Didn’t really get much play time, and what I did, spent pretty much all on Phoenix Wright.

Still playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations .

Just started the 5th case, which is apparently the last one. Loved all the cases till now, and the last one seems to be a great conclusion.

3rd case was really fun, at least the beginning.

spoiler

Also, I really hate Dahlia now.

Dropped Just Cause 3.

Liberated the first province, and most of the second province, but the difficulty level of remaining bases increased a lot. Many elite level enemies and lot more enemies. Doesn’t make the game too difficult, but I was just playing it for mindless blowing up stuff, so when I couldn’t do that anymore, didn’t want to continue playing it.

Should just get EDF for this mindless killing stuff.

Started Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

I wasn’t planning to start it anytime soon, dunno why I did.

I am only about 4-5 hours in, and for now it feels “Dragon Age” to me. Maybe it will change when I play more, but the level design and characters interaction etc. feel similar to Inquisition. Character models and visual styles are of course different, as well as combat, but playing the game feel like I am playing a sequel to Inquisition, not some other random game.

Plan to keep playing it as a secondary game.

On a separate note, Xenoblade Chronicles X got preloaded! Can’t wait for the release!

That’s all on my end. Unless I forgot some game again. What about all you? What have you been playing?

I plan to continue with God of War (PS4).

For a game that is rated 18+ I’ve not actually had many moments where I’ve had to stop my kids (10+) from watching me play and they have been enjoying it with me. I’m normally quite careful but the main gameplay is just fighting creatures and puzzle solving so it’s just the boss fights that give it a higher rating, well so far that’s what it seems.

The story and characters are excellent and the dynamic of Kratos and Atreus is something special. Also it’s a really good looking game and much better than the current gens “blurriness” that everything seems to have nowadays

Of course still playing Monster Hunter. So far only one monster I really don’t like. Hirabami is almost constantly afloat and almost all you get to see and work with is the end of its tail. And that’s by design, considering the tail can be broken 5 times in total. >.> Nu Udra is really cool though. I don’t know if the octopus frame has ever been used by another monster before, but it’s certainly very new and refreshing to me!

But with the random nature of grinding, I needed another game to fill short gaps in case a session ever ended early, so I started Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. This decision may have been influenced by recent news, but I would never admit that. I was surprised that most of my muscle memory from decades ago is still intact! It also reminded me how unbelievable it is that the series every reached a point where the games were considered bad. It’s such a simple concept that still works, how did they mess that up so badly?

I’m excited to jump back into Avowed. Last weekend I made it to the second map, and I have a lot of exploring to do there!

So far so good. My biggest complaint is how often it crashes, but good news for everyone else, it seems to be only happening to people playing on the first edition of the XBox Series X (lucky me!). It seems to happen in sections. I had to go through one major dialogue, about 5 times because of would crash in the middle of it, but then I might play for another hour before it happens again.

I’ve always been a big fan of Fallout and Elder Scrolls, and it fits right in with those, but it’s different enough that I’m still learning how the systems work.

I guess the game is a lot smaller than it looks, my son’s already finished the main story, and half of the “world map” doesn’t exist in the game, so I’m wondering if we’ll see those parts in DLC or something. Still, kind of shady to show us this big map and not actually have anything behind it.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned the crashing here before. That’s pretty weird that first party game crashes on all first edition consoles. They should do something about it.

Is it possible that your son only did main quests, and those areas are for side quests etc?
