What video games have you played recently?

and

What are your favorite video game genres?

Question of the week:

What games of 2025 are you enjoying right now, if any?

and

What do you think of the recent Nintendo Direct? And the upcoming one on April 2nd? And, once the Direct airs, what did you think of it? (Last question is for when it airs in the future.)

I find the problem with open world games tends to be that it’s really hard to have any depth in them. Since the player can go anywhere and do quests in whatever order they stumble upon them, it’s hard to have interesting progression and development of the world. I find I prefer the hub model Bioware uses where you have sort of open worldy segments that are stitched together into an overarching story.

That latter point is especially the case; the progression aspect is definitely a problem.

Yeah, I agree with the BioWare approach.
